General Membership Meetings and Programs- September 2008- June 2009
Membership meetings and programs are open to invited guests and members of other garden clubs. Our club meets on the second Monday of each month in the Medford Leas Auditorium at 9:30 am. If attending, please follow signs for "Event Parking". The Pinelands Garden Club sign will be outside the entrance to the auditorium.

Monday, September 8th, 9:30 AM- PROGRAM: SUMPTUOUS BOUNTY...Reflections on… “The Farmer’s Market"

Members of Pinelands Garden Club promote buying local by bringing “Farmer’s Market” type products which they have grown, baked, or made during the summer and fall. Floral bouquets, baskets of fresh vegetables or fruits, pesto, jams, jellies, natural cheeses, home-made baked treats and local produce will be for shown and offered for sale. Please bring recipe to share.


Monday, October 13th, 9:30 AM- PROGRAM: OUTSTANDING PERMANENTS...Reflections on… “Perennials in The Garden”

Bruce Crawford, Director of Rutgers Gardens, Adjunct Professor in Landscape Architecture (Rutgers), will discuss the advantages of perennials in the garden and a present a powerpoint show on “Garden State Gardens” that are open to the public. Perennials will be available.


Wednesday, November 19th, 10:00 AM- PROGRAM: NOUVEAU DÉCOR...Reflections on…”Designs For Your Home”
Penny Decker, noted Floral Designer, Lecturer, National Garden Clubs Instructor and Master Judge, will design beautiful traditional and highly creative designs for the home. Light luncheon to follow. Guests: Members of Garden Clubs of Moorestown and of Haddonfield are invited to attend. Open to the public with pre-registration and $25 fee.

Monday, January 12th, 9:30 AM- JUDICIOUS DECISIONS...Reflections on… “The Rancocas Watershed”

Using an enviroscape, a New Jersey Watershed Ambassador will demonstrate the effect of pesticides, car oils, fertilizers and other pollutants on the Rancocas Watershed over which we live.


Monday, February 9th, 9:30 AM- FANTASTIC SPIKES...Reflections on… “Grasses Sway the Summer Away”

Diana Weiner, Community Relations and Volunteer manager for Meadowbrook Farms, historic estate of J. Liddon Pennock, will discuss the culture and advantages of ornamental grass and grass-like plants in the landscape throughout the year. Grasses will be available.


Monday, March 9th, 9:30 AM- PROGRAM: MAGNIFICENT BLOSSOMS...Reflections on… “Daylilies”

Jane Guillard, owner of Falcon Turn Daylily Garden, a private collection of over 1000 hybrids and species daylilies, will show the delights and culture of these perennial favorites.


Monday, April 13th, 9:30 AM- PROGRAM: APPEALING INVITATIONALS...Reflections on… “Entertaining From the Garden”

Wini Applegate, NGC and CAR Environmental Studies School Chairman, GCNJ Environmental/Conservation Chairman, and innovative speaker, will demonstrate many exciting ways to decorate your home for guests using flowers from the garden. Raffle of her designs follows the program.
